Qysh Me Has Been Acquired by DUA

Dear Friends,

Today I get to share some news. Qysh Me has been acquired by Dua, a network built to connect Albanians around the globe.

We believe in Dua’s mission and its leadership. It will open real doors for Albanians: new friends, a serious relationship, a wider professional network, new things to learn.

Wondering what this means for our daily readers? Not much. Day to day, it is business as usual. Only now Qysh Me has Dua’s resources behind it to keep bringing you fresh content.

Our story, shortly …

Korab Osmanaj and I started this back in 2011. We worked odd shifts, some starting at 4 AM. Lunch break was around 8 AM. That is when we would brainstorm and float unusual ideas.

We were also trying to fix a problem of our own. Relatives kept calling to ask “how do I fix this ____ issue?” ( Qysh Me … ) and waking us at 6 PM, which for our schedule was basically 2 AM.

One of the first articles we wrote was Qysh Me Hape Llogari ne Gmail? (How to create a Gmail account?). A few hundred articles later, the rest was history.

We worked on a voluntary basis, every day. First to join was Fisnik Sylka. We met on Facebook when he messaged us to recommend an optimization we needed. He stuck around and helped with everything, and we all learned a lot in those days. He got fascinated with SEO and became our SEO Manager. Today he is a well-respected SEO Strategist working with international clients.

Fisnik introduced us to his friend, our fourth team member, Dardan Hasku, who joined as Social Media Manager. Dardan now has his own agency, Dardha, one of the top ones in Kosovo.

After more than two years on Qysh Me, we felt ready to incorporate. That is when Uranik Begu joined Korab and me on the leadership team. Our side project became a startup in May 2013 (according to the business certificate).

The past 9 years had plenty of struggle. Too many clicks and a server that buckled. DDoS attacks we did not understand at first. The usual typos and daily challenges. I learned a lot, and I could not be more grateful. So I want to personally thank the people who supported us along the way.

An easy, education-focused how-to site in Albanian is a rare success story. And we are not close to done. This is a new beginning for all of us.

Qysh Me has found a good home in Dua. I am sure it will keep growing and accomplish great things there.

Korab, Uranik and I will support the transition fully. I strongly believe Qysh Me can give its readers even more than we could before.
